Sebastian Aleksander, Sr. is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Aleksander Group, a Florida-based government affairs and strategic advisory firm representing regulated industries, global enterprises, innovators, and public-sector entities navigating complex legislative, regulatory, and fiscal environments. He brings more than two decades of experience in Florida government affairs, lobbying, public policy, and strategic advisory work.
He began his career in the Florida Senate Majority Office while attending Florida State University and later served in senior legislative and political advisory roles within the Florida Legislature, including as Special Assistant to Speaker Marco Rubio. Prior to establishing his government affairs practice, he directed disaster recovery projects involving state and federally funded initiatives supporting communities affected by major hurricane events throughout Florida and the Southeast.
Starting in 2007, Mr. Aleksander began representing nationally and internationally recognized energy, technology, telecommunications, tobacco, and premium cigar companies before the Florida Legislature and executive branch agencies. His practice later expanded into social media, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, healthcare, manufacturing, and strategic advisory work across other highly regulated sectors.
Mr. Aleksander has since played key roles in advancing, shaping, and defeating legislation on behalf of leading global brands, major Florida employers, and institutional stakeholders across a broad range of public policy initiatives, including pension reform, regulatory preemption, technology policy, investor-owned utilities, economic development, healthcare, and appropriations. Beyond his professional work, he continues to support charitable and civic initiatives benefiting veterans, K-9s and educational advancement. He remains a longtime and staunch supporter of Florida State University.
